About the Club

Writing club has been an idea of mine for quite a while now. I've been wanting to be a writer for at least three years, and since I started High School at TuHS, I wanted to be a part of the Creative Writing Class. Sadly, when I finally had room in my schedule, they didn't offer it anymore.

So I decided to start the TuHS writing club.

I thought perhaps, there would be more people like me who were disappointed it was not offered as an elective class.

This club is mainly for people who aspire to become authors, poets, story-writers, public speakers, etc. later in their life. I hope that it's a place where people can feel like they can voice their opinions through the use of words.

We have only about 4-7 active club members, but with time and advertising, we'll hopefully attract more people.

We do have a few light rules, just to maintain some order.

1. No plagiarism. (Should be obvious. No copying people's ideas, no using their ideas, no using their ideas as your own to make yourself seem better. Everyone has imagination to write, they just need to feed that imagination. The club members will give ideas, input, corrections, edits, if in turn you do the same.)

2.  Keep criticism constructive and not rude. (We're here to better our writing skills, not to bring people down just because their ideas don't quite match our own).

3. Be literate. (As hard as that is, don't text speak, or L33T5P3AK Either please! We're here to become better writers and not to make a mockery of the club.)

This blog is essentially a partnership with the club. For posting lists, writings, etc, that people can comment on and use (Not the writings obviously).

I hope that when I'm gone next year, these active members will keep the club going and make it a success :)
